Have you ever come away from a networking event with a small handful (or even a large pile) of business cards in your pocket?

Yep, me too…

When you sit down to look through them a few hours (or even a few days) after the event, if you’re lucky some will have a note or follow up message scribbled on them.

However, it’s likely that you’ll also be frowning over a number of them and trying to remember who was who.

What should you do after the event?

You now need to make best use of all those names and email addresses.

Some of them will require a personal, 1-2-1 follow up or a LinkedIn connection request but all of them should be integrated into to your e-shot list.

The good new is – there’s a quick way to do this

New technology now enables you to easily input your new contacts and then send them some useful information straight away.

Easy card-scan technology

Using clever apps such as Snap and other card scan software it is now easy to scan in each of the business cards you’ve collected.

This then displays on-screen a list of each new name, job title, organisation, ‘phone number and email address website here.

You then simply scroll down the list and tick the ones that you want to add to that day’s email list.

Then, once you’ve created your email content (with hyperlinks to your website and an eye-catching header) you simply click ‘send’.

You could for example set up and send a straight-forward, ‘Great to meet you today. Here’s a little more info about my business and how I help people. I’d really like to know more about you. When could we catch up?’ email.

Simple!
